Okay, so I am working on a track right now and I really want to practice mixing. I know I partially do this already when adding FX etc..but I'm talking about like final mixing type thing.
I remember hearing somewhere that people set it to like a certain -db, but then what do u do from there.
How can I do this to at least get a feel for what I should be doing?
Where should I start with my mixing?
Any quick tips to get me started?
Any books or online articles you recommend I read?
Mixing to me is confusing, because I understand why people mix, but I don't know how to do it myself. All I have been doing really is making tracks and volume control for certain things. That's about as far as I go. Is it correct or not? Idk. I'm unsure what to throw in the master track, like limiters, compressor, soft clipping?
Just any general advice to get started would be appreciated!
