Hey guys,
I'm looking to branch into EDM/dance pop style music after coming from punk/guitar based music for years. I know Logic Pro X inside and out. What I am still trying to wrap my head around is how the EDM styles are produced in the most musical way possible.
I can select a synth and tinker around with it for 20 minutes, but when I do this, I lose my creative flow and get bogged down in non-musical things like clicking around. I want to be able to sit down and just knock out some riffs/drums/synths in a few minutes while being creative. Like in the same way that I would sit down and play my guitar for an hour and not record anything.
I'm sure everyone's setup is different. But would a Push or Launchpad really add THAT much to my process. I already have an Axiom 25 keyboard with 8 drums pads. Is that enough?
Thanks!
