Hey guys,
since 5 years i produce with my small and handsome MacBook 13 (Late 2011, i5, 16 RAM, Samsung EVO 850 - 512 GB SSD). I know, that the CPU and stuff is not a beast but it works for me, cause i love to work with audio and bounce and freeze my stuff as soon as i can...
Normally i produce with Studio One. I bought iStat Menus which show me my temperature of my Mac. In Studio One, my MacBook goes up to 90 Degrees under very high pressure (Serum etc...). But when i work only with audio (drums etc...), the Monitor shows 50 - 60 degrees... That is okay imo...
A good friend of mine showed me Ableton in the last weeks and i downloaded the trial version. I loved the flat UI and i thought about to switch my DAW...
BUT after i started Ableton (IDLE) my monitor showed me 75 degrees and after i programmed some simple Drum loops (only audio) it goes up to 95 degrees - the fan kicked in at roars in my face...
I don't know what i should do? Is this normal? Maybe some Ableton Users can help me out? Ableton gave me some crazy creativity, i would love to work with this DAW but i have the fear, that this can destroy my MacBook. Im a student, so i hope my MacBook still "exists" in the next two years...
*I use my MacBook on a external Monitor (the MacBook only have a onboard GPU).
Thank you!!!
