I noticed that when you lower the faders or channel volume it affects the compressor threshold level. If you have a synth playing a sound at 0db and a compressor running with a threshold at -24 it will compress 24 db (anything above -24), however if you lower the volume of that instrument to say -10 then it only compresses 14 db (because the volume never reaches 0db). This ultimately affects the dynamics of the sound you are compressing.
Sometimes there's an input volume that you can raise to bring the level up to 0db and compress it but once you go to lower it back down to where you want it the threshold level is affected again. How do you get around this?
