I have admittedly fallen into a habit of mixing my kick at 0 (advice from some reputable people actually) and just tossing a utility on the master, mixing every other element around it and dropping the gain a bit to compensate for redlining. I can't help but feel like there could be downsides to this. I almost feel guilty every time I do it and I have no idea why. Advice appreciated.
