I'm wondering if anyone here has ideas for fun, relatively simple songs that would allow kids to jam and improvise.
Context: my three kids love music and singing, and are beginning to learn piano & violin. I'd like to help them get comfortable playing by ear & improvising by playing some simple songs together.
I'm thinking oldies, blues, old hymns & spirituals, bluegrass/folk songs. Pretty much any song with a simple ii-V-I progression that kids would like and maybe already know. Songs where they could improvise just using a simple scale. Perhaps just starting with a simple blues progression would be best?
Any guidance?
