I've started the journey of teaching myself about music, I finished all the music theory lessons at DaveConservatoire.org and feel like I have a decent understanding of the big picture and what lays ahead of me. I just got a 61 key keyboard (Yamaha PSR-E373) so I'm ready to actually start physical practice. It seems like the first place to begin is learning the major scales. Maybe some simple chords. And from there, while many others have outlined useful courses for beginners by video or books, I've also heard of a variety of interactive programs. I'm able to connect my keyboard to my computer and wondering if it's any more effective or easy of a process to learn and practice the keyboard from software like this? Or is the best option is still the recommended books which have been tested and proven?
