Hi everyone! Im 21 years old and I just graduated from college. Compared to the past couple of years, I find my daily life to have more free time than I used to so I’ve decided to spend it by learning musical instruments.
When I was about 8-10 years old I was enrolled in piano and guitar classes but tbh I don’t remember learning anything from that experience AT ALL. But despite that failed attempt, my desire to learn how to play instruments never really died.
So many overwhelming things happened during my teenage years ‘til the last year of my college that’s why I never really had the time to give musical instruments another shot, but just this quarantine, I’ve learned to play a few songs on the ukelele! (which surprised me and made me really happy). Weirdly I find it easier to study about it now than when I was younger?
Someone told me that it might be a little too late for my age now considering that Im already quite old. It did discourage me a bit but I still really want to give it a shot. I won’t call myself a singer but I can carry a tune and Ive performed in crowds for a few times already so I’m not really new to music in general I guess? (idk maybe an additional info that might be of help 😫)
Anyway so my question is, is it really too late for me to actually learn how to play instruments? Also, I was told to learn about music theory but there’s A LOT of it on the internet and IDK which one would actually be of help, would really appreciate your advice on this one too.
Thank you in advance!
