I've been trying to learn music for a while now, looking up YouTube videos about game music so i can make a video game. But every time i see a music sheet, i see the letters above each measure and wonder "what do those mean?"
The only things i can find online about them are that they might be chord progressions, but i'm not entirely sure what that is either. Is it a held note in the background, like in Megaman 2's Dr. Wily stages? Or is it the first note of each measure, or the last? Is it both of them, explaining why sometimes they denote (hehe) 2 notes separated by a slash, like this (Eb/Bb)? I would appreciate it so much.
