I ain't going to write a long snore story. But the only practicing for me during the last weeks Is the previous ritual based exercises. Since I came across David Magyel channel on Youtube I used to practice 4 different arrangments on Autumn Leaves I used the Solo,Walking Bass and trio based. I still practice Donna Lee and Cheryl like a technique building tool. You know the feel when the goals is close. Recently besides the rituals( 2 5 1 in every key with 4 systems. Voice leading. Besides that and practicing Cheryl ( the melody in unison with 2 hands) I wrote down 2 other Charlie Parker for same purpose and it became dull fast. So when I "comped" In the left hand and had the melody in the right. It was the realization that I my voicings sounds terrible and I suck in improvisation. I tried a couple of songs. All that voicing practicing. I'm clueless before lead sheets completely and when I notated a youtubers left hand voicings till the Charlie Parker blues. It still felt useless. It wasn't a timing issue or clash in harmony. It's deep and without anything soulfull. It's toxic to music in general. That's the point of practice regiment. Have you been in similar ditches and just turned it? Do you suggest/recomend something that works for you? Thanks for reading my shit
