Does anyone have good tips or any theory they can instill on me for writing black midi sounding riffs or songs? I can tell that they like sliding octave shapes, diminished fifths (tritones) and running scales that they then play a whole step up. Looking for other suggestions on scales, modes, or chord progressions to learn that will help me write like them! Like how tf do I make seemingly random notes and janky tones work well together and sound good with another guitarist??
