I always try to choose sounds/samples that sound as good as possible from the beginning, I feel that overprocessing them with eq just make them sound bad/unnatural (sure there are no rules, but this is how feel most of the time when eqing a lot). I think there is a technical explanation for this and after many years producing I feel that I should know it, could somebody in a simple way explain this?
