Quest on compression goes on. Hi, I've been a hobbyist producer for a year. And I'm recently interested in studying and experimenting compression. The comps I have or gotta buy are:
- H-Comp: Good to keep transients with thickly compressed sound with punch control. Fast and versatile.
- CLA-2A: Nice and fast for piano, string, pad stuff. But not exactly for the kick.
- Pro-C 2: Provides extremely wide settings and controls. Gotta study this more.
- RComp: Gives a snappy, musical touch with Opto compression. Good choice for pop drums, but I have no idea If it'll fit for EDM kick.
- FG-116 Modern: Modeled after 1176. Comes with low punchy and high sheen. Nice for vox and snare to give some presence. Gotta test this for kick and bass.
- dbx160: Wishlist. It is told a beast for kick, but I don't know how it will be in EDM one.
I mainly produce DnB, Dubstep, and Hardcore. Though I will keep testing, Which one would be the most dope one in the list? And what's your favorite out of the list? I'll consider those too.
