Hey guys,
I'm starting to get more into making my own drum samples from scratch, and while the kicks are relatively easy to choose a pitch for, I'm struggling with snares.
How do you guys usually tune your snares, if at all, in relation to the kick? Same note but up an octave or two? Some other in-key relationship like a 3rd, 5th, or 7th? Obviously you should just go with what sounds good, but I'm curious if there are any general guidelines you use when designing your drum sounds.
