Is splice good at cancelling subscriptions?

I know that the title is worded poorly, but I can't think of another way.

Basically, I want to try out Serum with their 'Rent to Own' service. It seems like a great idea. The issue I have is that I'm not always guaranteed to have the money I need for said subscription. I am wondering how quick and responsive they are to cancellations. Is it like cancelling a Spotify membership, where once I click cancel it is automatically applied?

Also, say I've paid for once months worth of subscription and decide to cancel the membership so that it doesn't automatically renew. Will I get to keep the product until the month is up, or will it automatically be taken away from me, regardless of whether I've paid for the current month?
