That is why I think it is so important to go back to learning the basics in every area before you progress to the more advanced things.
This could mean reading the manuals of your DAW or plugins, doing beginner tutorials for your DAW or genre, reading a textbook, combing through all the basics.
It might be slow and boring, but no matter how much you think you know already I promise that you will learn new things that will speed up and improve your workflow dramatically.
Set a little time aside every day to study the fundamentals and it will pay big dividends eventually. Just as you shouldn't try to play professional basketball before you know the basics of taking a shot, or you wouldn't try Olympic weightlifting without knowing correct form, don't try to run before you can walk otherwise you'll fall on your face!
