I make beats and I'm starting to get into recording live instruments as well. No matter what I do, all my songs sound very up front and close to the listener, even the tracks that have lots of stereo separation and reverb, and it takes away from that "professional" sound I'm looking to achieve. I'm not sure how to get that "glued-together" quality that makes the songs seem a bit more professional. If anyone could take a look at my beats and let me know what I'm doing wrong, that would be great. I can send you project files, etc. I just need a bit of guidance.
