I've been researching a variety of production techniques, but there are a few things I've found that seem to be unique to Ableton, so I am trying to figure out how to replicate them in FL Studio.
The first is the simple delay in Ableton: in an old post where someone asked EPROM how he makes his basses sound the way they do, he said that he uses the simple delay (only affecting the mid-high frequency content of the sound) in Ableton to delay one channel by 1ms, and the other by 10-15 while running it in "time mode". The only thing I've been able to do that is similar is to use the stereo shaper plugin in FL Studio, and delay one side slightly, but then I run into phase cancelling problems when I listen to it in mono, even if mess around with the phase knob. Is there something that the Ableton simple delay is doing to avoid this issue that the stereo shaper in FL can't do?
Second, Ableton has a "warp function" for samples which allows you to pitch a sample up and down while retaining the length and rhythm of the sample. Does FL Studio have a feature like this, and if not, is there a VST I can get that will allow me to manipulate samples in this way?
