For example, with respect to middle C (C4), where are leads typically played on the keyboard? C4-C5?
Where are pads typically played? Additionally, could leads and pads play into the same octave ranges as other instruments or should they be kept separate to give each component its own space in the mix? In other words, should ranges ever overlap?
What are the relationships between subs and basses? Of course subs will be lower but by how much? Where are basses typically played and how much lower are subs or are they in the same octave range?
