I'm just curious to know at exactly what stage of the production do you widen the higher end of your track. Is it during the project ie while rendering the initial mix (to be mastered later on) or you do it while maximizing and EQing the track to match the standard loudness level?
Do you only render the stems in mono and then load them into a separate project, and do the necessary panning, stereo widening, applying FX, maximizing, etc or do you apply everything in a single project and then export the final track?
Since I cannot afford a mastering engineer ATM, I would be happy to hear some useful advice and tips from you guys. Thank you.
