So looking into live performance after years of producing.
One thing I notice is that when it comes to live edm shows or even club shows, from big name talent to local, everyone prefers to use those DJ turntable controllers instead of other studio controllers like the Push, MPD, Launch Pad, Maschine etc. that you would use in the studio.
I'm wondering why is that? I know DJ controllers are exactly for what they are made for. But you can also do the same with cheaper studio controlelrs like a novation launch control and Ableton. Maybe more? I've seen it done rarely live at small shows. But still performers always prefer the DJ controller.
Just wanna learn the benefits. Either I wanna stick with a live setup with my MPD 32 for live sets or if it would be beneficial to invest in some kind of DJ controller and run traktor or serato. Maybe don't wanna spend money on a specialized DJ unit and new software...
