There is no way people like Infected Mushroom got their knowledge about sound design simply from trial and error. There is such a huge variety of different sounds and sound effects, synths, vocoaders and drums it would take ages and ages to comprehend them all to even a small percentage. There has got to be a logical approach to sound design.
Is there any way to learn it quicker than just watching different youtube videos and trying to remake some sounds you like. Most of them show only the sound design inside a certain synth like Serum or Massive anyway, while the best sounds usually consist of much more than just a synth with a little bit of EQ on it.
