I've been learning how to produce EDM, mostly UK Garage/Bass/Bassline, in the last 8 months or so. I've got to grips with some VSTs and learning how to reproduce some of the wubs/basses and well as finally producing tracks that I enjoy listening to rather than cringe at.
I've learned that splitting bass frequencies makes life a little easier especially when editing mid bass patches. But I find myself constantly going back and forth between mid and sub bass patches to make sure all their envelopes and LFO shapes are the same. It gets a little tedious when I experiment with sounds as I have to make sure the corresponding sub basses have the same decay, LFO shape etc.
Is there an easier way to do this or is this just the standard way of doing things ? Do you think it's necessary to always split bass frequencies?
This is just a new hobby of mine which I do in my free time but if there's a trick of something to speed up the process please let me know.
