remark: someone asked (in one of the posts with few comments), 'then why the fuck do you need to know these things in the first place?' -- that's a good question, a question about necessity
because you have to know first to be able to make good better (and best) decisions, like with the highest end of physics, it may completely useless as relevant to everyday life and living, and it is, but understanding some of the key thigns when it comes to the high-end of physics (and combined with other topics), they've effectively won me over in terms of what is reliable and accurate information (and is one of the few, in proportion, really solid fields/areas/topics in existence)
plus, something can just be interesting, and 'interesting' also has highs and lows when it comes to quality; a high form is call 'fasicinating'
so the answer is yes, yes you -- need -- to know in the first place. it's a need, you need -- to.
