Hey everyone, I've been searching high and low for a long time to try and get a handle on what to search or where to look for answers on very specific sounds I've come across while trying to write some EDM type pieces.
This is the reference piece:https://youtu.be/7YCxnLdWo1U
What I'm trying to figure out is how they do the stutter vocals between 0:06 and 0:07, and then how they do those high pitch vocal type fx/synths and that pumping gate from like 0:40 to 1:12 and then again from 2:00 to basically the end. I've looked for stutter vocal type stuff, but I've seen a large number of ways people achieve that and I'm curious what everyone here finds is the easiest, but more importantly, the most efficient way of doing it. I know the example in this song isn't the best, but I heard something similar to what I've been searching for and decided to attempt to kill a few birds with one stone. I've never been able to really find much on the high synth vocal/fx that I'm talking about. I imagine it's some sort of vocoder being used or some sort of mix of a sample vocal put through effects or a vocoder and then chopped and arranged, but as I've never been able to accomplish this based on what I've watched, I figured I'd reach out. And finally, I imagine that "pump" that the synths are getting during those sections is being achieved by some sort of side chaining gate or something like that, but I've tried to kinda find all of this before and can never seem to describe it properly or know what to call it/search, so that's why I'm here with all you pro guys. I appreciate any assistance, even if it's pointing me toward an article or anything that would help.
