I hear this in professional productions, where there are subtle little sounds throughout the song that fill out the spaces. They aren't very well defined, sometimes it sounds like reverb tails or maybe a sample filtered way down. It kind of serves as this polish on top, which to me separates a professional production from an amateur one.
Do any of you guys have any methods you could share in how you add subtle little sounds like this in your productions? I get the concept, but in practice it's something I have a hard time making sound good.
