My friend gave me some of his dad's old gear, including some random Yamaha stuff. I checked online, and none of its worth a ton, but it did include a Yamaha DX7 FM synth.
I currently have FM8, and have only briefly worked with external gear (JV1080 soft synth, a moog voyager once), but it definitely had a slightly different tonality.
Is the DX7 a synth worth spending any amount of time on?
