Hey guys. I just got into EDM after seeing a really good show and I'd like to learn how to make this style of music. My problem right now is finding resources that will actually help me.
A little background: I am a guitarist and engineer. Most of my work has been in the Metal and Jazz world and I studied Jazz composition in college. In terms of music theory and mixing audio I'm pretty set (always more to learn but I'm definetly not needing more basics).
The past few days I've been putting together some tunes/remix's. It's really fun to learn this stuff and I haven't really had much trouble coming up with ideas. My problem is creating the sounds themselves and getting the ideas in my head out quicker. I know there is a learning curve and I'm still getting comfortable with my tools (synths and other electronic mixing techniques) but I am having a hard time finding material to learn this stuff specifically. There seems to be a lot of really general topics that I don't need help with and not very much in depth on specifics. I really don't know where I would find this type of info.
So I'm here to see if you guys have any learning resources (articles, videos, etc.) to help me with that part of my work.
