Hi, many of you are aware of the recent thread with complaints against the subreddit moderation. Let's talk solutions.
Here's what's going to change:
More strict self-promotion rules
- Users posting links to tracks for feedback, soliciting/offering services, promoting fan pages, using follow-gates/download-gates, or otherwise benefiting financially from the sub will be banned for a day and informed to read the rules.
Daily Feedback Thread
- To compensate for the more strict promo rules, the feedback thread will be posted daily, starting tomorrow at noon, and the marketplace thread will be posted monthly instead of quarterly (starting December 1).
More strict title rules
- The purpose of your post must be clear by reading your title. Threads that do not conform will be removed without notice. We aren't even thing to look at the content of the post before the removal. Make the title clear and concise.
Quarterly "How are we doing?" Threads from the mod team.
- No more threads complaining about the sub. They will be removed without notice. Complain in the quarterly thread.
"How do I make this sound?" Threads are allowed.
- These won't be removed. Nobody used the weekly thread, and sound design questions are part of production, so go for it.
The other rules still stand - be respectful, no "drama" posts or low-effort motivational posts. Stay relevant, etc. The rules in the sidebar and on the wiki and everywhere else will be edited to reflect these changes over the next few hours.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc., In the comments if you've got them.
Happy producing.
