I slowly learned that linear phase EQ seemed to smear my low end or make it murky when I did steep cuts in my low end, such as cutting deep subs out of a mix. Standard EQ seems to avoid this for my use cases, usually sounding better to me and resulting in a more solid low end with less negative side effects.
How do you like to use linear phase EQ? Can it work well for steep low end cuts? Please educate me.
