A number of EDM producers are also perfectly proficient with real-world instruments; I don't think all, but many, certainly. I'm not necessarily talking about those who are feted as having classical training, either.
I'm sure this impacts their EDM work in some form; since both are musical skills, how couldn't it? What I'm curious about is how much this might be important for production, either for practical reasons (maybe it's easier to hear the way stuff sounds if you can just tickle some ivories quickly?) or that the experience of having played some given instrument might provide richness or depth to production in some form.
