for example in this song he uses his signature formula with the chords beneath the leads
how is he getting it so thick and round? in all of these threads i always see people reply with one liners like "layering blah blah" but honestly those posts dont contribute and i think some indepth discussion is needed for threads like these. i really want to know the nitty gritty since his songs sound so good, and its not just him either, a lot of producers share this formula
ive spent a long time adapting to his sound and have a lot of screencaps from the rare times that hes shown his project files, and i know he uses lots of compression and minimal processing on things like his pianos (just EQ + compression and a low pass filter) to my knowledge he uses several bass layers with a warm sub from trillian and also a series of chords layered with a piano to provide that extra warmth. he uses invisible limiter on the master which pumps everything up and makes a fat cohesive sound, but im curious about the secrets of his processing during the mixdown. but where is he cutting these chords to make them still sound good and leave room for the leads? how is he layering them (definitely sylenth but what else)? anyone got any clues or tips?
cheers
