How do so many tracks seem so full with just a kick drum for the low end while mine sound so empty?

For example, G-man - Sparticus, but also thousands and thousands of other tracks. I have trouble getting my tracks to sound "full" when I just use a kick, despite the fact that I have them plenty loud in the mix and the samples that I'm using are similar to what you hear in tracks. What am I missing?
