So Im trying ot sidechain a reverb in FL11 by sending the original mixer track to a send track. Then I put a reverb and a fruity limiter on it. I set up the sidechaining effect in the fruity limiter.
Now I have two choices:

I send the original synth track to the send track ONLY and not to the master. Problem with this: The side chain effect will apply on the entire synth. It won't just make the reverb more quiet but the entire synth since the entire synth will basically sidechain itself.

I leave the synth track as well as the send track to be sent to the master. In this case the synth will be sent to the master twice and the sound will become distorted and louder.
I'm lost with this. What am I doing wrong?
