Hey guys, I'm an amateur producer who's been recently experimenting with different music. I've started to drift away from generic house/pop-y leads and have started using more soft and darker-sounding sounds but I'm having a hard time getting it to sound powerful like a good track should. Instead I usually find they are pretty dull. As an example, I like Sober Rob's tracks, they usually are kind of dark and melodic but still powerful...
Recommend the plugins that you like to use and how to use them (I'm talking about mainly stock plugins, but I'm open to download some free or cheap ones) (Also To note: I do EQ & sidechain my tracks so that's not too big a problem)
So... How do you guys add that extra power and agressiveness to sounds? Thanks!
