Hi guys, i'm very new to this if you have time to read thank you.
Long story short I really like making my own sounds but vsts are not so 'friendly instruments' like playing a real synth so I bought a new one.
But my questions are:¨

How do you actually record sounds to use and make songs? Do I just record one or two sounds and use them like samples over and over again?

Or should I use the sequencer and make the whole process on my synth and then record?
I would love to know how 80's music/synthwave were made and 16 bit music too (one of the reasons I bought these stuff)
I'm using Cubase if that matters.
