I've got this electronic track I'm working on in Ableton 9. It's sounding really good on my studio monitors. It's sounding really good on my built-in laptop speakers. It's sounding really good on my Bose headphones and Hi-Fi home speaker setup.
The problem is, it's not very loud. When I play my track and compare it against any other commercial track, my track is much quieter. Worse, is that when I look at my track in Spek, I'm missing a ton of mid-high frequencies.
I added a multi-band compressor to the master channel and cranked up the mid by 9 db and high by 16db. It's sounding comparably loud to commercial tracks, but my sound quality has gone to shit.
Any suggestions? I've attached the two Spek graphs to illustrate before and after the multi-band compression. http://imgur.com/a/zmoN4
