Just seeing how you guys feel about your audience and if you are currently in-tune with it. Do you actively try to cater to your audience or do you find yourself making whatever you feel like? YouTube helped me a lot in terms of honing in on mine as far as demographics go since I don't perform yet.
Originally, I thought it would be predominantly male as I was doing hip-hop/trap beats but one of my tracks that was a bootleg remix went viral outta know where and the majority of listeners were female (60%). When the surge of listeners came, a lot of folks mentioned such and such vine or channel brought them but it was stuff I had never heard of before and was hard to find the videos they came from. Has this happened to anyone else here and have you been able to leverage that in anyway (reach out to influencers, etc.)?
A lot of teenagers, young adults, gamers and bronies seem to be drawn to my channel. I also had a remix of a turkish traditional folk song that went slightly viral randomly after being on YT for about a year so I had a surge of turkish listeners lol I would love to hear any experiences of how you've found your target audience or about your music that has gone viral and if you were ever able to pinpoint where it all came from
