I have tried stacking/layering up to 8 different synths. (At different volumes) I usually end up doing this because I'm trying to get a good sounding, full-ish sound. Though I recognize my mix peaks alot during the drop where it is layered a bunch. I think that it must be all those layers. I do EQ but I don't know too much about it.
What is your rule for stacking layers? What do you do? Any tips for getting a powerful-ish drop without peaking? I'm still very amateur at producing and mixing, so much help would be appreciated.
