I have a pair of Yamaha HS8s which I've loved, but I feel like even they don't give me the same highs that I get in my car. I can easily tell when my high frequencies are too much when I car test, but not in my studio.
Is there a certain range that I should always cut out on the master EQ?
I've been cutting almost everything above 10kHZ on the individual mixer track EQs but still get some highs that are just overpowering.
Any tips on getting masters that don't have that overly bright sound?
