I generally look for artists similar to ones I've remixed before and just take the full recording of a song to turn it into a remix. The way I approach it is if I think I can improve on the original, I will feel the urge to make a remix. Otherwise, I generally will pass if I think the song has a lot of trap elements already since I primarily work in that genre. I very rarely work with stems or acapellas but would love to start doing that more as it's easier to get a clean mix. I know there are some subreddits for song stems and acapellas but would love to see more. I primarily make trap remixes. Would love to hear how you guys approach remixes in various genres and any good resources for that.
