Hey guys, I saw Virtual Riot's stream the other day and I saw that he uses a Fletcher Munson curve and I've been using it for like 2 years on the Q2 from FabFilter. I remade it for Ableton's EQ (but it doesn't sound as good as Q2, but it'll do the trick) and I zipped em up and uploaded them so you guys could use them.
Just slap one before everything on your master and it's going dip some harshness out of your mix.
If you don't know about the curve, just do some googling. I found this to be a nice read if you don't know anything about the FM curve.
tl;dr:
- ear sensitivity per frequency differs when volume is introduced
- this curve keeps it sweet at high volumes
