So, I've been in a search. For the right DAW for me. I've been using FL for the past couple years (FL11 because reasons, but I work now so I can buy something) and I've noticed that specifically reverb, no matter what plugin I use always ends up sound metallic. Yes I've used all the amazing freeware verbs from epicVerb, to Ambience, to the TAL reverbs. I've even demod the different Valhalla verbs. Used exact settings I've seen in tutorial videos and my reverb sounds the same.
Now I downloaded Studion One 3 (the free limited one) and writhing minutes of testing out synths the reverb, even being a built in effect" sounds SOOOOOO much better and more lush. What the heck is up!?! I know FLs real time playback is worse than the renders. It litterally days that in the manual. Is there a way to change that? One of my favorite parts of writing music is getting that huge epic reverb style sound on myleads and synths. Like in euphoric hardstyle or trance. But it gets to be really hard to mix right when your reverb sounds like ass all the time.
Honestly I'd switch to studio one if it wasn't for FLs piano roll which I heavily rely on.
Is there anyway I can fix this? I don't want to ditch FL because I'm so comfortable with it. But this seriously irks me :(
