How many of you use Maschine for creating initial composition and then move on to Ableton for mixing and smaller compositional enhancements? Or at least getting the rhythm section down and move on to Ableton for composing melodies. One of the biggest problems that derails my creativity is trying to compose in the same software that I mix in. I often end up getting about 20% of my idea down and then forget the rest because I'm tweaking knobs for the rest of the time. I'm hoping using a different piece of software to create initial comps would give my brain a clear separation of creative time vs production time. I think using the Maschine hardware would be a nice change of pace from my usual method of just drawing midi in Ableton as well.
I know of a few artists that start their tracks in Maschine and move on to Logic, Ableton, or FL for the production stage, and I curious if they do this simply because they are more familiar with Maschine or if they do this purposely to create that mental separation between composition and production.
