When you guys want to switch up the chord progression slightly or maybe even add some more to it, do you just clone the channel? Or add another of the same vst and then copy the pattern and edit it in another channel? I have been cloning but then realize that means I can't send them to different channels on my mixer? Just wondered if there was a "best practice" when wanting to add some sugar and spice to chord prog/melody
Example: I got Morphine rocking some sick brass, but after 4 measures I want to chop them up to match with a choppier melody. I can either add a second Morphine and copy my chord structure and ctrl+u that bitch. Or I can simply clone it and ctrl+u that bitch.
