Hey guys, I've been lurking here for months and have studied the FAQ heavily (and still am). I just have a problem that has been bugging me for hours and I am hoping any fellow Reaper-users might be able to help me out.
So I am following this old post from the Reaper forums to attempt to sidechain my pad with my kick, and it's working great, except the send is making it so that each time the kick "note" plays, the corresponding note also pays on the pad. I'm been trying to find a way around it for a while now but I am frustrated to no end.
Is there a way to make it so that each MIDI note on my kick track doesn't also play a note on my pad track when sidechaining in Reaper? I hope I'm explaining this correctly. I can clarify as best I can if need be.
A hopefully relevant screenshot below:
Track pad1 is sidechained to kick2, so each note on the kick2 track there is also playing Middle C on my pad, which is ruining the pad track.
I can screenshot anything else if you ask. I really appreciate the help and apologize if this is such a basic question! This is my first song where I've attempted to sidechain and I really want a nice, throbby pad.
