I use a low level vinyl crackle in the background of a lot of my tracks and when my music is stopped it slowly drives me crazy as it runs nonstop. If you're using a plugin (like Ableton's built in "Crack" or "Vinyl Distortion") and not planning on just bouncing the crackle to audio, automate the gain of the channel with the crackle sound to be silent when you're at the very first bar of your track (you can automate it to come back in immediately when the tune is starting). That way when you hit stop twice and it resets to the beginning of your track, the crackle is hiding and not driving you insane.
