So I've been diving a bit into theory and melody writing lately and I noticed that the 2nd triad in the minor scale and the 7th triad in the Major scale generally sound like shit and when I started looking up some of my favorite progressions on HookTheory I noticed that almost all major artists avoid those 2 in their relative keys as well. Now I understand that their diminished or augmented chords so that explains their "funny" tone but maybe for someone starting off writing melodies it would be easier making progress by avoiding those 2
