Yo, I know some of us are just starting out and I wanted to share some keyboard shortcuts in Logic Pro X 10.3 that I found recently. Knowing keyboard shortcuts helps expedite your process and makes you look like you really know your stuff when you're showing off all your lit tracks to all of your friends! please be my friend...
Anyways...
K = Turn on metronome
Enter = Go back to the beginning of the track
Cmd + K = Open on screen keyboard
Space = Play from marker
A = Open automation
Cmd + C = Copy
Cmd + V = Paste
Cmd + X = Cut
Cmd + Z = Undo (I know there are common knowledge but I didn't know about it before this so I thought I'd include it for those that might not know as well)
Piano Roll Stuff
Right Click/Quantize Options:
Quantize your notes (Get them to line up with the tempo): click on the "i" button on the top left hand side of your window. Under "Region:", there will be a button that says quantize. You have to highlight the midi you want to be quantized and there are a bunch of options available for swing rhythms and for straight rhythms.
To get all of your notes to line up/get rid of overlaps: Highlight the midi you want to edit, right click and check out the "Trim Note:" options. Two of them make all the notes legato, two of them eliminate overlaps.
Ctrl + Up/Down arrows: Move all highlighted notes one half step up or down
Ctrl + Shift + Up/Down arrows: Move all highlighted notes one octave up or down
Automation Stuff:
Cmd + Drag = Select multiple tracks and change multiple values at once.
Ctrl + Shift = Bend automation track.
Please comment below if you have any more shortcuts you can share! I'm sure there's about half a billion I don't know about.
Cheers :D
