Dislclaimer:I'd like to apologize in advance if this seems like a stupid question to you but I am genuinely curious.
As a person that is very artistic (I can dance, paint, draw, and write stories fairly well), I wouldn't consider myself to have any musical talent. And I'm using that term loosely, I'm sure I could learn to play an instrument if I tried really hard, but I can't see myself doing anything beyond following sheet music. If it came to creating my own music I simply couldn't do it. I wouldn't be able to come up with any original beat or literally anything if a gun was pointed to my head! People that can write songs seem so amazing to me...and the talent seems so foreign that it must be something you are born with?
My question is, is this something that comes with time? Or is this one of those things only certain people can do? And if you are a musically gifted person yourself, where does it come from?
And don't get me wrong, I LOVE music. My playlist is huge, and I'm interested in lots of types. I just wish I was able to create my own!
Thanks for sharing your views, I have always wondered about this ).
